are you sure oh goodness i cant contain myself now.i was told to look for diareea but couldnt remember why,now i know.ive been out with her dont worry im not letting her out of my sight!!
someone said the other day you'll know when shes in full labour as she'll continue to heavily pant for days!! god is that true?shes just got out of her box and circleing my front room i take it shes uncomfortable??
> this is 1st litter right?
nope 2nd but the first time i knew nothing about pups til the first was born.i had her examined and the vets told me she was having a phantom so no need for scan, then i took her for an ear infection, and MY vet told me pups were due from anyday.i was taking back the treadmill i had bought for her thinking she was overweight i thought i wasnt exersizing her enough)i got phonecall from oh to say pup had been born and to get home NOW.long story i will tell you soon when i get the chance,it was awful but we came through it.
shes going to have a pup very soon hun stay calm and if you see her opening up (take a look ) get her in her box
GOOD LOOK HUN xx

ok ok .thanks

this has to be it shes pacing badly and really panting hard
yep there coming now :) :) :) keep me posted if u can and stay calm hun xx

no thats fine sorry, i just didnt know how long she had started this. a few hours are to be expected any longer panting, shivering etc.. i would consult your vet.
if she starts to strane and pant for over an hour you will need to ring your vets but as she as only just started panting like this plz dont worry yet ,just before she as them she might start shivering dont worry its normal my girl shiverd for about 3hours before 1st pup .....but she girls dont do at all x
if she will let you take her temp and see what it is !

First stage bless her, keep going girlie, wish I was there I love seeing new babies born :-)

Its a wonderful, thrilling and humbling sight, love it when the new babes have popped out and their breathing well and wiggly and mum sets to cleaning and polishing her new babe, just lovely.

if she is pacing, panting, shivering and digging she is in the first stage of labour, i would not reccommend this going on for any longer than 2 hours (max) without seeking guidance from your vet
yes 1 been born ...the other is due today also but she asnt been back sinse thismorning but i dont think anything was happening ?

temp now 37.6
very true mahonc... what youve been seeing with your girl over the last week is what your friend must be talking about !!
so its 99 now and that makes sense it goes back up before puppies come .

I keep checking in about every 10 mins lol.

she is probably trying to cool herself down thats all

she delivered last time her first at 4:10 in the afternoon and was done by 7pm.
to be honest id prefer the middle of the night

A fantastic bit of advice for you given to me by my vet during whelping, DONT PANIC she will pick up on it, keep calm, go make yourself a cup of tea!

It is more usual in the middle of the night but the advantage is should the vet be needed (fingers crossed not) then you wont get the out of hours charge to.

my vet advised me to take her for a short walk around the block to "jiggle them about a bit" worked aswel!!
>> in fairness she did weigh 80kilos
well i think £850 for your breed is bloomin good it cost my freind who owns same breed as me £700 just for c section, then the antibiotics ect ect all on top.its all very expensive to have these puppies isnt it.
> my vet advised me to take her for a short walk around the block to "jiggle them about a bit" worked aswel!!
Yep it can set things in motion again :-)

right im gonna do that then!! back in 20 minutes
