So sorry to hear this, you were so brave to do the right thing by the poor wee man, it may have been less upsetting for you to keep him going but it wouldn't have been right for the puppy in the end. You did everything you could for him, including taking the right decision at the end and you have nothing to blame yourself for, who knows why he became ill in the first place- sometimes these things just happen.
Thinking of you

You did your best then made the right decision for the baby.

I have never really known just what the word 'decision' really means.. and for years people in my breed have been asking me for advice .. 'what should I do?'  I gave my answer in the best possible way even if I thought it meant the worst.. letting go.. its so easy to sit on the fence. I never really understood what that word meant to people... decisions...

when I asked another couple of breeders opinions, they simply said.. what would be the advice you would give if somebody asked you what should they do... and I knew... sometimes the odds are just stacked against you... and you have to do whats right for puppy, and not for yourself..

This is the 1st time I have ever made a decision on a young puppy.. always have battled on, beating the odds, and  won the bloody war... if I had kept him going, he would have been a casualty of that war, of my selfishness in wanting to win the battle... I made the only decision I could.. I gave him eternal peace

I hope I never have to make a decision like that again...

thank you all for being there with me..

Kay

Sometimes there is only one decision and it takes a lot of courage to make it.
