Well , me and OH. are jumpiing the broom  in 3 weeks time after living together for over 20 years. He was brought up in N. Ireland in the " troubles" as a Catholic and I was brought up  as a C. of Scotland. ministers daughter. Neither of us darken either churches door and so why would we want to get or expect to get married there???? We both think of ourselves as Christian and spiritual people and maybe it's because we are older/mature that we can make this a very simple thing to do in our lives. We will get married in a registry office and hold a big party the following week for all the friends and family to tell them. So yes , afterwards is mega important for all couples that get married where ever , how ever?
