Congrats!  Keep us updated. Fingers crossed for some action soon Tamara!
- By indapendent1 [us] Date 04.02.09 22:05 UTC
She is cooling down, getting ready for the next one im sure!! Wow those placentas ARE green, haha like wow. She definitely has one more to go! I named the black girl Michelle Obama, because shes the first lady that is black!! hehe i thought it was cute! then there is Darcy, in memorial of the one that just passed, and the boy is unnamed so far
- By white lilly [gb] Date 04.02.09 22:08 UTC
awww bless you what a lovly thing to do !!!
- By indapendent1 [us] Date 04.02.09 22:13 UTC
I thought it was appropriate because the name Darcy deserves to have a life! As hard as she tried, poor thing! The boy is named Nation, haha. And i am naming them all because they will be a part of my family! If there is a 5th then i will concider gifting it to my brother who is dying with all this info, he loves both my dogs and wants their pup!
- By indapendent1 [us] Date 04.02.09 22:20 UTC
No 4 or 5th!!! i thought i felt something but i seem to have forgotten that my girl still has a tummy under there!! she has her little figure back, and i trying her hardest to keep them warm, she doesnt want to feed yet, she is too intent on cleaning
- By toffeecrisp [gb] Date 04.02.09 22:25 UTC
congrats to new mum and to you. good luck and all our best wishes. my daughter is gutted she didnt see them being born...:)
- By indapendent1 [us] Date 04.02.09 22:28 UTC
haha, initally i was going to record it and all, but it was too far apart, and im so happy washing blankies, and getting towels thrown out, haha.
- By dogsbody10 [gb] Date 04.02.09 22:28 UTC
Ahhhh Bless and congratulations.
I,m soooo jealous,my girl should of been due on the 12th.We had a slip mating so after reading the threads on here of others still getting puppies from slip matings I was keeping my fingers crossed but alas it was not to be.
Hope you enjoy your puppies and lots of hugs to mum on a doing a great job.
- By indapendent1 [us] Date 04.02.09 22:33 UTC
i always had a round about date when trying to figure how long she was, and sure enough it was my first guess Thanksgiving!! haha im sure that was the day they clung to her cervix wall! I am ecstatic!! but am kind of upset that i didnt get a 4! but i am blessed with the 3! I only feel sadness for the breeders who try so hard from beginning to end with no avail, and here are my perfect little accidents! Im glad i will be able to register them, and they will be spoiled fat babies!
- By toffeecrisp [gb] Date 04.02.09 22:33 UTC
Hmmm..whats a slip mating?..never heard that before.
- By suz1985 [gb] Date 04.02.09 22:35 UTC
congrats on your new 3 babies, they sound adorable! are you able to register them if dad is short coat and mum is long? forgive me if im wrong, but i thought they were 2 separate breeds?
- By dogsbody10 [gb] Date 04.02.09 22:36 UTC
We didnt manage to get the dog and bitch to tie together.
- By toffeecrisp [gb] Date 04.02.09 22:39 UTC
oh i see..aww what a shame. are you going to try again next time she in season?
- By dogsbody10 [gb] Date 04.02.09 22:41 UTC
not sure yet as I may have to try to find another stud dog.
- By indapendent1 [us] Date 04.02.09 22:50 UTC
Not akc register, but have what is it aca? just so they have their shots, and papers
- By dogsbody10 [gb] Date 04.02.09 22:50 UTC
Off to bed now, hope you manage to get a bit of shut eye Indapendent1.
- By indapendent1 [us] Date 04.02.09 22:56 UTC
Thank you, and goodnight, yes i did sleep last night as i said FORGET IT! and shut my eyes, she had them at noon today! thank god during the day, and we've only just begun! i already began hand feeding the runt, she cant seem to find the teat
- By JeanSW Date 04.02.09 22:57 UTC

> are you able to register them if dad is short coat and mum is long? forgive me if im wrong, but i thought they were 2 separate breeds?

You are right.  The UK Kennel Club will not register them, as they are cross breeds.
- By Brainless [gb] Date 04.02.09 23:33 UTC
Please avoid supplementing until the pus; have had a chance to get the colostrum, as that is far more vital than mere sustenance it what will enable them to survive, gaining vital antibodies from their Mum.  This only lasts at best a day or so, or maybe only a few hours, so you need to get the pups latched on to Mum, not full up on artificial food.

Also I have heard you mention whelping blankets?  You need to take great Care they do not get tangled and suffocated.  You either need a flat piece of fairly stiff bedding like Veterinary fleece (vetbed) or no bedding at all.  Of course you need to keep the whelping box warm for them, either using a heat pad or lamp.
- By Brainless [gb] Date 04.02.09 23:36 UTC
The American Kennel Club wouldn't either and most any other registry is simply a puppy farm body, though the United Kennel Club do run shows etc, and many in the US take part in shows run by both, but there is a pupy farm registry using the same initials to fool peopel into thinking they have worthwhile papers.
- By indapendent1 [us] Date 04.02.09 23:40 UTC
Hi, happy to say all three are latched on to mom, i know how important colostrum is!! Also the blankets i mentioned were the blankets mom had while whelping, they are now all on a weewee pad that has a heating pad under! Blankets were just for mom to rest!
- By JeanSW Date 04.02.09 23:56 UTC
It's been a long old haul!!!  I, like lots of others, have been checking in and waiting on tenterhooks!  Bet you won't sleep tonight, too much adrenaline flowing!  Congratulations.  Jean

At this moment, it doesnt matter, i have missed so much sleep, and playtime lately that i feel entitled to my bitch! i was really guilty that i let this happen to her, but thank god she is a trooper, and i know her pups are going to be taken care of. Unfortunately had i not rescued her she would have eventually bred with her brothers, or dad and came to a much worse fate! she is in great hands and i am on a cloud right noow! Yes unfortunately because they are both long and short haired chis i will not be able to AKC register them but there is a form to keep them registered, since NONE of these are breeding **they are not candidates for professional breeding** they wont be a part of a puppy farm, just a lifetime of puppy love!. I have wanted a Yorkie for years, and if one day i get one for my birthday or anniversary ***hubby is behind readind over my shoulder*** i would love to have a whole gaggle of them, as i think they are wonderful pets, and are terribly intelligent! But for now i just have my pups and my queen will deliver soon. 2009 is a great year thus far!
