Bonnie's 1st season was at nine months and lasted 21 days +. She is now 14 months old. Is her 2nd season likely to be about 6 months after 1st or could it be sooner/later? Just wondering what the norm is. We are going away mid october but don't think it will be a problem if it starts a couple of weeks early as she 's staying with her breeder.

In my breed I have had seasons between 4 months and 9 months (in the same bitches) apart with an average of 6 months.  A friend of mien in Welsh Springers said it was normal in her breed and lines to have 9 or 10 months between seasons.

I would consult the breeders of your bitches sire and dam and find out what the usual pattern is among their bitches as this often follows in family lines.

Molly had her first season at 9 months old, 2nd 6 months later & 3rd 9 months after that.
