After all the worry about Molly being spade today, it didn't happen. I took her in this morning & she was shaking a little but not too bad. I got a call from the Vet just before 12 to say Molly had been sick in her pen, frothy sick with bits of what they thought paper bag in it! Anyway, they put it down to nerves, but on the way the the theatre she had awful diarrahoa on the floor and up the walls. The vet said it flooded out & then lots of water came out.
Molly now has to take Kaobiotic for the next 4 days. I wonder if it was nerves that bought all this on...what happens next time I take her in!! The vet said give it a few days & she how she is.
She's asleep now & feeling sorry for herself.

I think It probably was her nerves and I would ask to be there right until after the premed and to be there for when she wakes up (have them ring you as soon as she is out of theatre).
Thanks. I will ask them if I can be with her next time, I think it'll be better for all concerned. I'll speak to the vet next week, I thought it would've be all over by now!
Molly is now booked in for this Thursday for spaying. I'm taking the day off as the vet nurse said to take her in about 1/2 before op & I will stay with Molly until after the premed. So my tummies doing flips again!
Molly has now been spade. I picked her up from the vets at 5 today. She's walked to & from the car ok, but I had to lift her in. She's laying in her bed sound asleep, but now again she wimpers & cries. I suppose this is the GA. Molly's laying flatout on her tummy, just where her scar is, I guess she knows if it's hurting her or not.

Glad she is ok :) She will be a bit drowsey for tonight but will be up and about raring to go tomorrow :D

Glad to hear she is doing okay :)

Glad she's okay. :) Our rescue Labrador was spayed on Monday and she's more or less 100 % normal again. (Only difference being the stitches!)

Glad for you it is all done now. It might be an idea to take your girl to the Vet regularly just to see the receptionists and be weighted. This helps enormously to get dogs used to the Vets with only nice things happening.
I wonder why some people write 'Spade' which is a digging implement, the correct word is 'spayed' with the 'Y' pronounced. Is it because people pronounce it wrongly omitting the 'y' in their speech?
I assumed in the original post it was a typo, but having seen it repeated I did wonder?
To be honest I didn't even think of the correct spelling. I suppose I have never had to spell spayed before!
Molly is much better today, still a bit quiet, but is eating, drinking, weeing, pooing & barking....so I guess all is ok!!!
She has to go back on Monday for one sticht out. But when I took her in yesterday she wasn't as nervious as the first time, she actually walked in the door,I usually have to carry her!

Good

She didn't have such a negative association, so it may be worth making an effort to visit the surgery just for a fuss with the reception staff and if the scales are in the waiting room to have her weighed.

I can talk mind you weighted instead of weighed. None of mine are light enough to need weighting
