Well we have had the 'kittens'  for two weeks ( they have doubled in size and they were 20 weeks old when we got them ) and they are wonderful :D

But what we have found is how good they are on recall It takes a few years with dogs ( ok dependant on how you do it with experience ) but the kittens are trained already :D

It's because they were originally coming to me so I had them enrolled at kitten socialisation classes once they had had their innoculations......seems to be paying off.  ;) 

And of course, you did buy Labs, if you'd gone for something sensible like a Munsterlander.........

Ahhhh - but just you wait until they are old enough to treat you with disdain - even a spitz breed would have better recall then. :D

My little monster couldn't care less when I call her now - she just wanders off on her merry little way, not batting an eyelid or twitching an ear.

My Shep has better recall and hers is awful...at the best of times!

My cat Barney used to recall to a whistle, very good at night when I wanted him to come in!!! He also used to retrieve his ball like the labs.

Thinking about it he recalled and retrieved better than the labs

He is now living with a friend after she lost her own cat and she was amazed. She asked how to get him in at night etc and I said to her imagine a dog and do the same things and he will come running. The only problem she does have with him is he pops across the street to visit a family with 3 labs and tries to play with them!!!
