We have a new addition :)  No - not another RR but an Aussie pup to keep Meg company.  She is the most beautiful red merle, with a part white collar and with startling blue eyes and she is adorable.  The problem is that my partner and I can't come up with a name that we both like, so any suggestions would be appreciated - otherwise she may get stuck with being called Puppy!

How about "Ruby"?
- By Merlot [in] Date 17.09.07 16:27 UTC
How about "Merle" or of course "Red" I once knew of a red merle called "Santa" (Red outfit!) but she was a Xmas baby. (Born then, not for  ???)
Have fun with your new baby.

Pippi as in Pippi Longstocking. Matches the personality of every aussie I've met. :-D Enjoy your new girl. :)

OK seriously how about some spanish names:
Roja - red
Raquel - for spanish name means lamb
Reina - queen

That's just a few

Too late to edit - you might not understand the Pippi name, she was fiery little girl with red hair and blue eyes.

How about goddess names?

Aisha (moon goddess)
Asa (Goddess)
Aura (Goddess of Breezes)
Celena (Selena) (another moon Goddess)
Deva (moon Goddess again)
Freya (love and inspiration)
Kali (Goddess of destruction -on second thoughts maybe not! LOL)
Levana (protector of newborn children)
Maia (Earth Goddess)
Pallas (Goddess of wisdom)

I've picked out the ones that are easier to spell and pronounce :d

Thank you all - some lovely suggestions and some I like are very close to names we already have or have used in the past.  I'll have a chat with my partner after he's finished making supper- I'm busy puppy watching :)  (Yes, he is wonderful!!)

I particularly like Poppy, Ruby and Chilli and she is a little Diva (following on from one of Debs' ideas) but will let you know what he thinks.

And thanks for the congrats - she is just beautiful and such a little character, so bold and playful, yet SO cuddly :)

Sounds like Chili is perfect! :-D

Can only join in. Chilli is a perfect name!
My warmest congratulations to your new addition!
I know all about how time consuming they are, not much time for anything else. :p
You don't happen to have any photos laying around, do you?

Tigger?  (thinking tigers eye, and the bouncy temperament).
- By spiritulist [in] Date 18.09.07 14:42 UTC
Chilli is a great name. I also like flame.
- By Jetstone Jewel [ca] Date 18.09.07 14:50 UTC
Gosh, don't call her Ruby.  If you are like me you will then feel compelled to buy jewellery in your dog's name and rubies are darn expensive.  Garnets are red too and less costly.  :)  Garnet somehow sounds male to me though.

I like Flame, used to have a new forest stallion called Flame bright chestnut and he was a real lovey, soooo gentle...the littlest used to sit on his back while i washed his long white socks..one time her shivered and the smallest child was shivered slowly off his back on to the deck..... might be a good omen?
- By Gabrielle Date 18.09.07 17:08 UTC
She is definitely a ''Poppy'' and the nicest bitch in the litter......

Thank you to all who responded - she is now ..... Poppy  (It may be a bit common - but I don't know any Poppies and the name made me smile when I first read it)

Thanks, Gabrielle - I agree with you :) :)

If I knew how to do the photo bucket thing, I'd do it - but am happy to email pics if anyone wants to pm me.
