How much would you expect to pay for 7 acres of grazing for 3 horses per week/month? A friend of mine is looking for grazing for her 3 horses and I was wondering what you would pay or charge?!?

I used to pay £10 a week for diy grass livery, this included use of the stables to groom etc and use of the indoor and outdoor schools too.

i think it depends very much on the area. Around here a corner of a farmers field is £10-£15 a week per horse.....but i know people who live in london who pay £100 a week!!!

a field round here costs around a tenner a week - paid 6 months in advance. you just rent the field and put what horses you waznt on (within reason). you don't get charged per horse for a field (no facilities)

and you need to bear in mind various grants that are available to farmers now, often mean that horse are not allowed due to their soil destructive nature! we had a big problem with one of our fields falling under the stewardship scheme:mad:

Here in Brighton I pay £12 per week for grazing in a mixed herd on 40 open acres.

In case of accident or injury, I pay about £18 per week for a one acre individual paddock and £20 if want/need to use a stable as well.

I pay £15 a week in summer for turn out for mine. Meant to say that is each.
