Hi everyone

I have been spending the past three months typing up my wifes CD's for her karaoke in title order, she now wants it in artisit order to (women are never happy lol) does anyone know in excel if i can press a button or fomula to get the artist coloum to go into alphabetical order?

Yes, go to data on the top menu and then to Sort.

(and why didn't you do it in alphabetical order in the first place! :rolleyes: :P)

Click anywhere in the column that has names in it - make sure it is only that column or else you may alphabeticalise every column and the info won't tally up with the name ( the names will be in alphabetical order and so will the songs etc but they won't correspond to each other

Click on the icon in the toolbar that has a letter A on top of the letter Z with a down arrow beside it. This will sort the database in ascending alphabetical order from A to Z.

I haven't used this info for ages so if I were you I would make up a small list of info on a new spread sheet - 3 or 4 names and song titles - and just check that I have remembered correctly before you do it on your karaoke list - I don't want to be responsible for ruining months worth of work
