Hi all i have 3 rottweilers 2 girls and 1 boy who i love to bits all the same, they are outside alot but also inside alot, now the problem i have is with my girl teagan who is 3yr old, ok here is her story
teagan is such a loving dog, she will do everything we say to her in the house, she likes to watch tv and knows all the adverts and animal programs, i have never known a dog watch tv like she does, anyway, teagan is inside most of the time, when we let her out into the garden she runs up the drive and is like a crazy dog when others walk past with there dogs ( not good) she sounds evil, and she isnt. When it is bedtime teagan was sleeping in the house, but when we left her and went to bed she weed not much just a little, and somtimes did a poo this was driving me nuts, one night i came down within 30 mins of going to bed and she had weed but she had been out befor to wee. The other night me and huby went to bed and left daughter downstaires, teagan had weed in the hallway at the bottom of the steps, not good.
So we tried her in out bedroom for 2wks great no wee no poo just snoring haha that proved to us there was nothing wrong with her bladder. so back downstaires for bed she went as i had just had a operation and didnt realy want her in the bedroom whilst i recovered. the wee started within a week. please help if you can as at 3yr old i have never had this with my others.
They all get on great i have one girl that sleeps outside in a house with heating and electric she likes outside too warm in the house. My boy sleeps in and at the moment i have put teagan in with the other girl to see what happens there, but i know she doesnt like it, she is not her giddy self and just wants my love.
Also when i walk her it has become a problem she is like a switch has been turned off in her head and she is not nice to other dogs at all, on a walk i asked a man if she could come up to his 2 dogs to say helo he said yes, she went to nip the dogs the man was ok as i know him and his dogs, we needed to know what teagan would do. no happy with this i dont want to mussel her when out. the other 2 dogs are fine with out any problems, what have i done wrong with teagan??
sorry this is long but needed to get it all out as we love her so much.

Weeing and pooing is common sign of anxiety. As she didn't do it when she was in the bedroom with you then it sounds like she gets stressed and anxious when away from you.
Can you pinpoint anything that happened around the time this first started or has this always been a problem.
Also Territorial behaviour is normal for a dog, especially one with a highly developed guarding instinct like your breed.
The only way to stop her being naughty and frightening to passersby is not to allow her access right up to where people have a right to walk.
It is a reaction almost impossible to cure unless you were with her at all times to prevent the behaviour as in her eyes she is succeeding in making people go away when she acts fierce as that is what they do.

On the Victoria Stilman programme the other week I think I recall a dog weeing when left by the owner, what she did was to shut the dog in the kitchen and go out of the room for a few seconds then go back into the room she kept doing this leaving a little longer before going back into the room. After about 2 weeks of doing this periodically the dog learnt that it wasn't going to be left indefiately and stopped the weeing and pooing which she also said was stress related just as Brainless has pointed out.
Anything is worth a try.

If she's not had issues before re. aggression to other dogs or passers-by, and you can't think of an event that might have triggered these issues, I'd have a vet check her out thoroughly as there may be something off-kilter that's making her anxious.

you said you have just had an operation , were you away in hospital for long? what happened while you were away did the toileting in the house begin before or after ?
Have you brought anything new into the house ?
Hi there thankyou for replies teagan has always had a little problem with her wee, when we first got her she was fine, then when she was about 13 month old she nearly died by eating the wood on the fence, from that day she has not chewed at all, but the weeing started, she can go weeks without doing it, but if i am away for a night she then starts again, think you are right she hates me to be away from her. As for the barking at other dogs that started around the same time as the weein, everything changed when we nearly lost her, she is a very clingy dog.
On a morning oh lets her up with me after she has been out, and she wont leave my bedroom till i get up, which isnt long. I think she thinks she is human. lol
I was in hospital a day but the dogs couldnt come near me for a while, teagan would lay on the floor at the side of me with the sad expresion, she knew i was ill.
many thanks

It sounds like her physical problems are due to her emotional ones. You need to solve those by building up her confidence. Is she insured and is behavioural work covered as I think you would benefit from a Vet referral to a behaviourist.
Hi there no she is not insured. Last week on its me or the dog the lady put a advert in her local paper for other dogs to mix with hers, i wish we could do that as all we know is rottweiler owners and jack russel, and my friend with the jack russel wont let her near teagan, but there is a huge size difference.

Well the answer to that one is easy join your local training classes.
After some training to be better around other dogs you Will be able to make Friends with other dogs walkers and their dogs and socialise together, for me this social aspect is one of the major pleasures of dog ownership.
Training and socialising your dog will have a major effect on her confidence which will help with her problems.
