Topic Dog Boards / Health / Baytril Tablets Question

Hi all

Do anyone have any experience of their bitch taking baytril tablets (for cystitis) and the bitch becoming depressed?

My vet says that depression isn't a side affect but after loads more tests other than cystitis (which has cleared up) she is not suffering from any other illness.  My dog only has 2 3 more days to go on this medication, but after a conversation with someone else i have ordered garlic & fenugeek & also mixed vegetable tablets to see if we can ease things for her for the future as she has now had 4 bouts of cystitis in the last 8 or so months and she is only 1 year old now.  Each bout has been worse than the last, poor girl.

My bitch is currently on baytril tablets for an infection relating to an interdigital cyst.  She has been quite whingy and has been off her normal food (fine with treats though).  Not sure what the symptoms of dog depression are but sure as hell I'd be feeling a bit off if I had constant recurring cystitis.

Your dog sounds exactly like mine, whingy, off her food completely etc.
The thing is when her cystitis was at it's worst just over a week ago she wasn't like this, she was still herself but as the days have gone on with these tablets she's really down in the dumps.
Tonight my Mum came to see her and brought her some chicken which she'd cooked in gravy and veg, which the little terror ate :)  LOL Doesn't matter that i'd done all this as well and she'd turned her nose up, my Mum's crowing now about how good she is with our dogs, LOL
