Just wondering what going rate for vaccinations are? i recently took my cat for his yearly booster and was charged just under £50!
I'm dreading taking the dogs for theirs! I live in the South east/Anglia area and just wondered if this is a geographic thing.
Whats the average costs round where you live?
Jill
I'm £51 for a puppies first vaccinations up here in North East Scotland. I think I might have to take out a bank loan soon ;)

Don't forget that boosters for parvo and distemper are only required every 3 years so not necessary every year.
Vets do advise that Lepto should be given each year though, so make sure they are not giving your dog 2 extra lots of chemicals than they need and also charging you for it in the bargain

£30 here for puppy vaccinations and £10 for microchipping if done at same time of vaccination.
South Yorkshire.
Your's are expensive LindyLou

We use a cheap vet for vaccinations and our normal one for everything else. For dog boosters we pay £10.50, cat booster is £8.50, full course kitten vacc (without lekukaemia, don't do that as my cats don't go out and mix with strays)is £15, full puppy has now gone up to £20. My normal vet charges a LOT more than that -can't remember dog now but pretty certain kitten is £28 for first and £18 for second =£46. Hence we fill the car up and travel for over an hour and save loads.

The annual boosters for cats (Flu, FIE and Leuk) come to about £40 where I work.

I used to live in Kent, I'm not sure of the annual price for cats but I think it was around £35 at my vet. Full first course was £63!

For dogs down there the first course was around £40, boosters were £35. Where I am now (N lincs), I've no idea on cats as I lost both mine just before I moved, but first course at my vet for dogs is £35 and booster is £25.
Jill have you checked your receipt, an annual booster should not be anything like that.

Have you been charged for a re-newel of all the vaccinations by mistake plus a full medical check as with a kitten, pup or un-vaccinated adult?
Yes I did check the receipt after i picked myself up off the floor! and it was for a booster (flu/ent/leuk) total cost £49.95!
Ouch and they wonder why so many people don't have their dogs and cats boostered

£25 for the puppy full course of vaccinations and £18 for boosters. This is at a vet that does most things cheaply. My normal vet does the vaccine at £41 not sure about the boosters though.

It was £18 the last time mine had boosters - I think the whole course is around £25?

I use 2 vets a cheap one for vaccines etc I get them at £10 per vaccine regardless if it is puppies etc. My very local vet which I use for emergencies, sections any operations takes £56 for puppy vaccines. Some are just greedy sods.
Some Humour,
My mum recently required a section on her bitch during the day so we rushed to the more expensive vet they charged her just a little over £600. I told them off big time , generally in this area the average seems to be around £350 for a section , the vet said when I challanged them about the price , " it is a tricking and risking procedure", I replied , " Oh I will need to remember that it is more risky here than any other vet in Fife".. :-)

Just cost me £65.00+ to get Roxys 1st vaccs done, I had 3 dogs done recently for their annual boosters and it cost me £107.00 !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Must admit to having to pick myself off the floor when I was told the price. I had 3 pups to do as well

Thankfully I got a bit of a discount, but I still think it was a bit dear. My ex took his puppy (bought it off me ;) ) to his vet and he was charged £56 so must be the price up here.
Edited to add: 7 pups were microchipped at a total cost of about £107 - it was on special offer, and I got discount on that too :D
£90 plus microchip at £15 this covers the dogs vaccines for the rest of it's life. to have yearly done as my old boy is too old for vaccination club it costs me £26. If having pups done before they leave for 1st course it's £12.50.

Just had puppy vacs and microchip done and came to £96. Annual booster depends on what is being given, think last year it was around £50.

Yikes Jen!

I was relatively presently surprised (considering I live in Berkshire) that puppy vaccs for my latest were only around £50 last August, expected them to have gone up much more than that. Not sure what the boosters are, will find out shortly.

West London / Surrey - vet fees here are ridiculously expensive - £38 +VAT consultation fee. Unfortunately, most vet practices round here are part of a large group of vets and the costs seem to be similar across the board. The problem is - I help with rescue locally, and the number of dogs that have had no vaccinations since the puppy vacs is very high - makes you wonder if it is due to the high cost.
I wonder just how much the vacs cost to purchase by the vets. About 4 yrs ago my vet told me they actually cost under £10, so even allowing for a rise in cost, it still seems a high markup when the consultation fee is added. There are places where the costs are considerably lower, so how some justify the high cost for something which most people believe is essential I don't know. Surely the consultation fee covers the vet check part....otherwise what are you paying it for?

Just had our puppy vaccinated: jabs £28 and £10 for chipping, boosters cost £24, no consultation fee is charged for vaccinations.
