:d :d :d Yeah, I am so chuffed, I'm over the moon!!!!!!!

My Carmen's litter sister that I bred won BB at Windsor today.  Terri's dogs (Briedog) also had a good day but I'll let her come on her and also Jenny's boy did well too.

I'm so pleased because they all have the Briarlow lines behind them.

I may not have been there but I'm soooooooooo pleased.

Well done girl :d :d   I'll let you brag about your guys.
- By Goldmali Date 30.06.07 17:07 UTC
WELL DONE!!!! All of you! :D

Okay if we're doing a bragging thread I've got 2 little ones. :) At Blackpool my Ripley took BB & BOB. We had a terrible breed entry BUT the dog she beat to BOB was the one who took the dog ticket at Crufts and Ripley is a veteran. At Windsor Ripley won the veteran class and Rio won the Junior Bitch class, Rio was then RBB. Her litter brother Z that I bred (who lives down there) was BD and BOS.

WOW well done you.  I also had a good day at Blackpool, not as good as yours but it was still enjoyable.

It's great when the oldies win isn't it?  Even more so than when the youngsters win as I think it shows that you look after your dogs well and still have them in fit condition when some other dogs and breeds are passed their sell-by date.
- By perrodeagua [gb] Date 30.06.07 17:17 UTC
One of the people who goes to my training club won BP with her Belgian.  He's really nice, a little bit shy but he's definitely getting there and moves wonderfully.
- By Goldmali Date 30.06.07 17:21 UTC
They can be very difficult when pups and need careful handling as they are so sensitive. My 14 months old freaked out at Blackpool -because the judge had both a flapping tie (hit all the dogs in the face) and a LONG raincoat that he kept undone and so when he bent down it flapped all around her and she got scared. No such thing at Windsor thankfully and she was fine but you do often have to treat them with extra care compared to many other breeds.

Congratulation, Di   You must be so proud :)
- By perrodeagua [gb] Date 30.06.07 17:19 UTC
I AM!!  YOu'll have to tell Rachel when you next see her that Chacha's sister has won her second BB at a champ show.  Not bad and she's not 2 yet.  I sooo wish that Carmen would show as she's very much like her but not as long on the leg, she would of done so well in the show ring but at least she's excelling at gundog work and her sisters are doing brilliant so I shouldn't complain :d
- By briedog [gb] Date 30.06.07 17:28 UTC

Will do :)  And no, you shouldn't complain! :D  All your dogs are a credit to you in their different ways ;)

I see the breeder of my next pup also had a very good day at Windsor...RDCC and BP
- By briedog [gb] Date 30.06.07 18:25 UTC

- By Sam-Jo [gb] Date 30.06.07 18:36 UTC
One of the puppies I bred got 1st in MPB at Windsor, so pleased, as my pup got 3rd in MPB at Kelso, which means I'll be able to see her at Crufts, we are up North and they are down South!  :-) Thought I'd never see her again.
- By ice_queen Date 30.06.07 22:08 UTC
Well done everyone.

We had all 3 of our girls win their classes. :D  Was very nice to have all 3 girls in the line-up, however it was anooying that we, yet again, got nothing more, with often having two in the line-up it gets fustrating......Never mind had a lovey day in the mud! :D
- By perrodeagua [gb] Date 30.06.07 22:19 UTC
Well done everyone!

I think Jenny's being shy, she won two seconds!

So how did everyone else do at Windsor?
- By Archiebongo Date 01.07.07 17:09 UTC
My youngest came second in puppy (last puppy class!) and also 2nd in Junior.  the tannoy system was playing up just we all went into the ring and every puppy in the class freaked!  I'm just praying that he'll be ok next time out under the tents!

Wasnt the mud bath lovely on Saturday!

Oscar got 2nd in Junior BUT!!! Only two in the class.. soooo did we come 2nd or last? heehee :D :D

I've never seen mud like it today!!! Squelch city! cars skidding all over the place - Hurrah for my bright orange gawdy wellies!!! :D :D
- By bertbeagle [gb] Date 01.07.07 20:06 UTC
I had a lovely day apart from the mud, had to carry my dog everywhere! She was a little star and got 2nd in Graduate and 4th in Post Graduate both large and very stong classes so really chuffed. :)
- By Brainless [gb] Date 01.07.07 20:27 UTC
Well mine had their rare bath on Friday and were lovley and clean until we got onto the showground.

Mine were too big for me to carry (though some people carried theirs) so just had to live with mud on legs.

I took three of mine, and showed another I had bred.

First in for me was Jozi in Veteran Dog or Bitch (both bred by me as it happened) and she won that, and then the Bitch CC, her 10th.

Next was my Myka at her first show having never been to ringcraft, she won puppy bitch out of 3 and the winner of the puppy dog class (5) for Best Puppy in breed.

Lexi was a creditable 4th in Open bitch among a class of all champions.

Post graduate bitch was won by a daughter of Jozi's and full younger sister to Lexi.

In dogs Jozi's 6 months old son was third (he didn't show his movemetn well as he wanted to just sniff,a s first time on grass).

I showed Brodie in Open dog (though 8 1/2) and he won the RCC to add to his 2CC's.

So a good day despite mud spatters.

Was really miffed as had spent £12 on Stakes classes for each of my 3, and they clashed with the breed.

Shame about the stakes but a good show for you & the elkies
- By perrodeagua [gb] Date 01.07.07 21:06 UTC
Wow well done Brainless:cool:
- By Goldmali Date 01.07.07 21:06 UTC
Good one Barbara! :D
- By AlisonGold [gb] Date 02.07.07 10:16 UTC
Well done, I very good day for you.
- By ClaireyS Date 02.07.07 10:26 UTC
We got 2nd in PG dog  - and Alf got to sport his lovely trouser suit with matching hat  well at least he stayed clean

The mud at windsor was nothing compared to the agility show I went to at newbury yesterday, we had to help push caravans out of the mud and at the end of the day there was a tractor waiting by the entrance to tow people off
- By Brainless [gb] Date 02.07.07 12:41 UTC
Doesn't auger well for Friday (South Wales) then as more rain forcast.

Won't be rebathing the dogs then. :D
- By Lily Mc [gb] Date 02.07.07 10:30 UTC
My brag's a minor one, but I'm thrilled with it nonetheless. Useless day in the breed judging, but Mabel was second in the PetPlan Junior Stakes. Not only chuffed to little mintballs with the place, but £20 prize money too! :D

- By LucyD [gb] Date 02.07.07 12:38 UTC
Wow, well done all! We did nothing, but she showed beautifuly and moved very well even in our tiny ring, and several onlookers said how nice she was. :-)
- By hebeboots [gb] Date 02.07.07 17:22 UTC
Lucy, you're in cavaliers aren't you? I watched some of the cavalier judging as a friend of mine was showing her puppy bitch. Your ring was TINY!!! It was rather crazy as the ring next to ours was massive and had two numerically small breeds in it one after the other, and pretty much 2 thirds of that ring was un-used!! Yet I saw about 20 odd cavaliers squished into that teeny ring!! I suppose the awful weather meant a lot of last minute changing around, but with cavs being one of the strongest entries I would've thought they'd been better prepared??

Well done everyone :) :)
- By LucyD [gb] Date 04.07.07 18:27 UTC
I'm glad someone else thought that ring was pathetically small, I know technically we're toy dogs but mine get plenty of walks, and so are fit and fast!!
- By Brainless [gb] Date 02.07.07 12:42 UTC
That is really great, I love stakes classes which is why I was miffed about missing all of mine, and at least it is real money and not product.
- By Lily Mc [gb] Date 02.07.07 14:38 UTC
You're braver than me, that's the first one I've ever entered, always far too scared by the number of entries LOL.

- By Brainless [gb] Date 02.07.07 16:56 UTC
They are wonderful you and your dog get to meet interesting dogs and people and you can learn a lot about your breed from the differences with others.  The dogs get to relax, and somehow it is easier showing apples with oranges because it isn't a direct comparison.
- By ClaireyS Date 02.07.07 17:02 UTC
Im always pleased just to get into the cut in a stakes class :)
- By Brainless [gb] Date 02.07.07 17:32 UTC
Me too.
- By echo [gb] Date 03.07.07 06:33 UTC
I am thinking of entering the stakes class with Duddly and Peebles, never done it before at a big show but it must be worth a try.  We got the reserve dog CC with Peebles and another 2nd in puppy dog with Duddly.  Hoping that elusive first comes for him at Paignton.

Well done everyone.
- By Brainless [gb] Date 03.07.07 11:01 UTC
I just find the stakes classes so interesting and somehow when not in with your own breed more relaxing as you don't feel you and your dog are being scrutinised from the ringside so much and relax.  Also you usually get a nice big Ring and can move your dog for longer and further, so great for young ones to get them steadied
- By ClaireyS Date 03.07.07 15:40 UTC
At three counties they chopped the best in show ring in half for the stakes classes, we only just fit in the ring and half of those entered were absent
- By Brainless [gb] Date 03.07.07 16:22 UTC
Yes it was like that for the champion stakes (all small dogs except my Elkie and a greyhound bitch), but then they opened it up for the veterans and I showed a boy I bred to third place.
- By perrodeagua [gb] Date 03.07.07 17:22 UTC
Being in the import register is like being in a stakes class :d  Have to admit in 20 years of showing the Pomeranian's I've only ever done 3 stakes classes, came second out of 90 odd dogs in a puppy one once many years ago and was pulled out in the final cut of another.  Maybe next year I may do a few with my Spanish i.e. Veteran stakes
