ok, heres a poser for you...i am getting no joy with KC! if you want to register a dog from abroad for ATC number, and the name of dog includes letters with haceks or accents etc....hence making them completely different letters......how do our KC cope with it? Can they do it? What about letters that do not even exist in the english alphabet?

Well I am not an expert on this, but when they type in a dog's name they will use a 'normal' keyboard - the best thing would be to have the dog's name translated from its current language into English, after all titles are translated into English. People in this country might just be able to pronounce it then as well!

hmmm....ch is the same in both languages so not really relevant in this case......nope, sorry not convinced by this arguement. After all if my £300 laptop can have different languages pre installed by mr microsoft, I am sure its not too onerous a task for the multi milion pound KC IT system! and i think its insulting to the dog in question that his name cannot be correctly spelled.

They don't they just use the nearest English letter.  sire of my 'M' litter starts hs name with the letter Å, and the kennel club spelt it simply A.  The 'L' litter is by an import and the first word of his name contains Æ, our Kennel club have used A E.

Wow and I thought it was hard enough just thinking up Spanish names for my pups :d  Luckily all of the Spanish dogs I've imported have "easy" names!

My Kizi is registered as B. Calusek, but ought to be Całusek that is the Polish letter for the sound w, C is pronounced Ts.  It means little Kiss and should be be pronounced tsa-woo-sek.

Well looks like champs had a problem there.  What I was talking about is an l with an oblique line through it whixh is Polish letter for the W.

WE were supposed to have J'Budloe but just got J Budloe, not quite the same thats only French.
