Why does gloss paint dry in nano seconds on a dog and yet take 24 hours to dry on a door frame? Also, why when there is a wide open door to go through does a dog have to slide through rubbing up against the allegedly touch dry recently painted frame? :rolleyes:

More to the point, what can I use to get gloss paint safely off a short coated breed?  (White spirit is probably a bit harsh!!)

Off now to check the breed standard for the GSP to see whether the permitted colours include patching with Dulux biscotti. 

Oh dear. I regularly get paint in my own hair and find it slips off after a day on its own accord - I can't pull it off the first day but can slide it off the hairs by day 2, sometimes 3. (I've had some lovely fringe in my day) I'd like to think my coat isn't that oily so hopefully it will likewise slip off your GSP.

Don't worry, mine have had more than one coat of paint :P Keep brushing, it will eventually break up and come off :)

Vegetable oil - cheaper the better :)  removes oil paint from hands, hair, clothes, dogs, cats etc.  If really difficult on hands add in some salt ;)  Rub well in, afterwards just wash with a little washing-up liquid :)

YES!  I now have a solid black GSP again WITHOUT white/dulux biscotti ears!!!!  Thank you.  :-)  Still working on the liver pup but doesn't look so bad on her! 

You have to :D . I had a member of the same breed with a purple area after he decided it was necessary to curl up flinging his whole body against the wet skirtingboard! I just left it to dry and then it flaked off. The skirtingboard still has GSP hair welded to it though :rolleyes: :D
