Hello all.

My lovely little one year old Cavalier King Charles spaniel is being castrated right now and I am so worried about him.

I suppose I am just looking for some reassurance that he will be fine. It's more the anasthetic I'm worried about than the actual op itself.

 Ouch!

He'll be fine :)
The vet will be monitoring him really closely while he's under and won't let anything happen to him. I've had one of my dogs castrated with absolutely no problems and my bitch is spayed.
He'll be home before you know it :)

The vet will probably make sure he has pain relief, but if I were you I'd pop to Holland and Barrat and get a tube of Arnica 30c - a couple of these every coupld of hours for the first day, and every 4 hours the day after will help reduce and bruising and swelling he may experience - this was very helpful for my ESS who was spayed recently, and I'll be using it for her older 'sister' whose got to have a bilateral mammary strip soon :-((
