Just talking with my neighbour who has a splint on one finger.  She went to throw a ball for her dog and the dog miscued and jumped to get it and banged his head into her hand.  She said she knew right away there was something wrong when the end of her finger just hung.  Another neighbour passing by is a doctor and he said oh boy, you've torn a tendon.  She's had it splinted for 6 weeks and it's not healing right so now has to stay in the splint another 6 weeks.  She says she hopes the dog got a headache, LOL.

She has as well, a nasty burn mark on one arm, also dog caused.  She was carrying a lantern upstairs in a recent power outage and one dog went bounding up the stairs and knocked the hot lantern against her arm.  Is she jinxed or what?

I bet some of you can come up with some whoppers of stories in this accident caused by dogs so lets hear them.  Knowing of course, that we love them all the same.

I have one from a couple of years ago.

I had just come out of the shower and was on my way upstairs to get ready for work.  As it's only me and hubby I never bother to put any clothes on to go from the shower to the bedroom so I had them in my hands.  I was doing some sort of weird trippy tip toey dance as the floor was cold  and Oliver, my collie, decided this was a great laugh and was bouncing about in front of me - then he stopped - but I didn't   Forward momentum was just too much I'm afraid (never thought to drop the clothes and put my arms out) and as I lurched headlong into the lounge I can remember thinking "Oh great - I'm going to hit the solid oak coffee table" - which I did - with my head!  Hubby said he heard a big crash but didn't come downstairs (typical ) until he realised that a couple of minutes of complete silence had gone by.  When he came into the lounge I was lying naked on the floor, out cold and with the dogs all sat round me with "we didn't do it!!" looks on their faces LOL.  I came to just after he'd phoned the ambulance (thank goodness!) so was at least covered up by the time the paramedics arrived LOL.

I've had quite a few fat lips with my Spanish as they do like to bounce :d  Not sure whether my nose has been broken too as it's not quite the shape it used to be at the bottom.  Day before I was due to go to Portugal to the world show a few years ago on a nearby walk and we were going down some steps dogs continued down and I ended up on my backside!  Four hours later foot and ankle were 5 times their normal size.  A&E thought I'd broken my ankle but luckily it was just a bad sprain so I was able to go on my hols!

I have been 'quite' lucky in that most of the mishaps caused by my dog didn't cause serious injury.

- As I stepped over her she stood up and I went flying over the top.
- At training club she ran round me a couple of times whilst attached to the long line then took off at speed as I did - legs up then down hard on b*m
- She put a rugby ball on steps leading to garden so that when I went out carrying washing basket I stepped on ball and went flying again, washing landing on muddy lawn and me landing on laundry basket which really hurt my booby doobery

I do have a bad back now which I think had been caused by various accidents and her pulling on the lead.

I've been lucky too.  The worse mishap I can claim is puppy poo on my slippers :)

Ow, some of those sound painful!! Can't think of anything major my lot have caused, but my friend got a cracked skull from being knocked over by her collie cross and her head hit the edge of the kitchen work surface!

Sorry Debs but the image you have painted here has had me in stitches :D I am of course sorry that you hurt yourself but its the thought of you being out cold and the dogs sitting there as if to say "it wasnt us" thats got me giggling. Also when I first read your post I didnt click that it was your clothes that you had in your hands ;D

My friends dog is a bit of a freaky thing!
During a play around my friends dog managed to catch his sharp puppy teeth on friends ear making it bleed like a fountain!!
Also while playing  in the field fetching sticks,  as my friend has gone to pick up the stick to throw again, his dog has grabbed for the stick but instead grabbed my friends hand and he had to go to hospital for stitches and xray!

Thankfully (touching wood) my large dogs have not caused any accidents, even with young children in the house!!!
I have however stepped in the odd puppy poo with bare feet!!

Well I was bending over the puppies in a puppy pen one morning and stood up too fast felt myself go hot and cold, next thing I woke lying on the floor after hitting my head on the worktop which left a lump on my forehead for several months.

Seems due to low blood pressure standing up quickly, especially first thing before breakfast is not recommended :D

5 years ago I was walking a friends dog across a zebra crossing, she pulled and I slipped on the ice and fell on my knees. Cried as couldn't walk, rang husband who took me to A&E, after exam without xray told it was deep tissue injury. Carried on in agony for 3 weeks with leg giving way. Went to see a ortho surgeon who told me my patella was fractured and open all the way across. 16 weeks in plaster, operation and still a dodgy knee. Will be very careful on ice in future:rolleyes:

Ouch.  Not as bad as it could have been as I saw zebra, thought Africa and then thought LION.

I drove 3 hours to my sisters for my neices 21st birthday party. On that day I took Molly, at the time 9mths, for a walk along the lanes & a farmers dog came bounding up & wouldn't leave her alone, so I pick her up. Her head came up & smacked me on the brow bone. I thought I was going to pass out. By the time the party started that evening I had a massive purple black eye. I don't think anyone believed it was caused by a puppy!
