I have no open/championship shows coming up (planned to enter National Gundog but realised at 11.59 last night that the entries were closing then, ugh) so today I went to a local companion show to get my showing fix! It was a really nice day and I saw lots of people I know from training classes and from shows.
Felix was a star as always, and was 1st in the AV Junior class out of around 10-15 entries :)
I entered him in the obedience too. Last month he won 1st in a basic companion obedience class (his first time competing in obedience!) so this time we couldn't go in the lower class. I entered him in the middle class, and he did well! We lost 4 marks overall, and did a run off for 2nd/3rd. He did his favourite trick of sitting wonky so we came a very respectable 3rd :)
He is the first dog I have trained in obedience and is only 15 months old. I'm still very new to obedience - it's a whole new world and a bit daunting! We haven't been to our obedience training class for 4 weeks and haven't done much practice either - I think if we had he might have got that 2nd place!
We have our first "proper" obedience show next weekend - Clevedon & District Open.
Typically, the results for the obedience were being announced just as I had to go into the BIS ring! I made it into best in show, and Felix showed his socks off again and won RBIS :D
He has brains as well as beauty! I'm very proud of my boy :)

Well done! We do ok at companion shows, but it was a bit rubbish at Newmarket, our heelwork was sloppy, she anticipated her retrieve which is very unusual, and when a few drops of rain fell halfway through our downstay she got up, came over and said 'I'm a Cavalier, I don't lie on wet grass'! It was still raining when it was time for the other stays so we didn't even try them - I'd warned the steward! Never mind we won the AV Toy class though. :-)
