Hi all
pippin my bitch had her first litter of pups 3 weeks ago, she had to have an injection of calcium after, but now she has a lump on her back where the injection was given, went back to the vets and has been given tablets but it dosent seem to have gone down much, has anyone heard of this before?

This sort of lump is common after injections, whether ABs, vaccinations or whatever. It's the body's normal reaction to a 'foreign substance' entering. It'll gradually disappear. You might want to ask your vet if you should massage it gently to encourage it on its way. :)

My son ahd this kind of reaction at his first baby jabs, size of a quails egg.

Hi my cairn had a lump at the injection site with his first vaccination. It lasted for quite a while I know it was still there when he went back for his second injection. He was absolutely fine though. Good luck with your litter.

Hi
Merlot had a huge lump over her ribs where the vet injected calcium, gradually went of it's own accord over a few days. A bit of massage won't hurt and may make it disperse quicker.
