Topic Dog Boards / Showing / Open Shows - Payment

Hi  - Should I expect to receive payment acknowlegement when applying by post for Open Shows - or is it a question of turning up and assuming that it was received - i guess i could bring a copy of my bank statement to show the payment coming out? Probably just being paranoid but have applied for a couple and not heard anything back.  Should i have sent them registered post maybe?  What does everyone else do?  Cheers

No for open shows you don't receive anything. I always enclose a stamped addressed postcard for them to sign and return so I know it has been received and accepted.

You never hear anything from most open shows but if the payments come out of your account then your entries have been recived.

Some people will get proof of posting the entry forms as if you can prove that you posted the entry then they will have to accept it.  So you might want to do this in the future if you can get to your post office to post each entry.

Personally we just send them off and then turn up at the show, never had a problem.

I always fill in a Certificate of Posting card at the same time as filling entries, then just take them to the post office to be stamped when I post off the entries. That way it safeguards you as you have the proof that it was posted.
