puppies are now 9 days old, all gaining weight steadily, they had doubled their birth weight by 5th day, mum has been great with them she has been stimulating them to pee and poo but i noticed they have been in a bit of discomfort i have phoned the vets after telling them this and that i had to stimulate them to do poo's myself they just said to keep stimuating them myself and try and help mum out, they seem constipated as it took a while to get them to eventually poo some longer than others, so mum has been doing a good job just not licking them for long enough and i dont blame her if it took me that long to get them to poo then her tongue would be sore :(  anyway to get to the point 1 boy has a touch of colic so i have sent my son to get gripe water and liquid paraffin ( after doing a search on other topics on constipation and colic saw this was what was suggested ) can any1 advise on amounts to give them please ??
any help greatfuly apreciated

dont know anything about constipated pups but mine all had colic for a week from about 5 days and the noise was terrible! didnt bother mum much luckily. i gave them 1ml of gripewater each and 2mls calpol (parectamol) they are medium dogs pups (standard schnauzer). i would check with the vet though.
