My dad was a professional fisherman, we were brought up eating all things fishy, from Crayfish (A large spiny lobster type beast) lobsters, crabs, all types of fish........
I hated it when I was a child, now however I cant get enough.
Although it goes against the grain actually paying for it!
So sorry you are ill with it.:-(

My son was the fussiest eater out as a child :) Wouldn't eat crisps, cake, cheese, most fruit and a lot of veg, biscuits, sweets etc etc a nightmare - BUT he would eat ANYTHING that came out of the sea :D :D :D As soon as we got to my mother's in the IOW he would be down on the beach picking winkles which I had to cook for him to eat :D :D Never batted an eyelid at eating squid, octopus etc etc but show him a bag of crisps, cheese or a Mars bar and he's throw a wobbly :D :D :D

Perhaps there is a natural reason for your aversion to all things fishy, it sounds as though you have an allergy. It's not uncommon especially with shellfish and salmon. My OH hates anything that swims in water, but keeps trying to eat it and it never agrees with him. Restaurants always try to foist fish on to him, never me, always him, he gets pretty irrate when he is met with absolute amazement because he does not like anything fishy. He took me to a fish restaurant for my birthday a few years back, it never occurred to him that there would be nothing else on the menu other than fish, they had to send out for a pizza! Cheap date!
