Topic Dog Boards / Visitors Questions / cocker puppy weight

I am collecting my cocker pup in three weeks time. I live on a Scottish island and and have decided that rather than subject him to a gruelling 7 hour trip by car and ferry, I will travel by plane (50 mins). When booking the airline wanted to know the weight of the puppy. My breeder is very good and always answers any question I need to ask but he is at Blackpool this weekend and I need this info asap. So are there and cocker experts out there who can tell me what a 8 week old puppy is likely to weigh (in Kg please :-)??? I would be V grateful to anyone who can help.

Cocker pups can vary quite a bit but I would say that an 8 week old would be in the region of 3-3.5kg maybe a bit more if your pup is a big, heavy-boned boy. This is based on my own breeding records but as I said before, pups often vary in weight even in the same litter

Good luck with your new puppy!
