I have a 2 week old puppy, he was the last one to be born and he is smaller than the rest.  he is feeding well , latched on everytime I look at him.  Yesterday afternoon he became wheezy, sounds like he has a nose full of snot (for want of a better description), he is not breathing how he should be.  An hour ago he sounded like he was choking and when I picked him up, milk was coming down his nose.  I gently patted his ribs and chest and more milk came down and out.  he is settled now and feeding again.  We have an appointment with the vet in a couple of hours, but just wondered if anyone had any ideas or had anything like this?

Unfortunately it can be a number of things and some really where they won't make a long life.  Vet really needs to do tests etc. but some of the problems you can only find out by doing an x-ray which is a lot to put a 2 week old through when they are already unwell.

Hope it's nothing serious.

Been to the vets and he says its either a respiratory infection which should clear up with the AB's he has given him or he has inhaled some milk and if thats the case he wont survive as the milk goes rancid in the lung and the lung rots away, but he did say that if thats what hes done he would be a lot poorlier than he is.  he is still feeding from mum.

So fingers crossed that the AB's work and he pulls thru.

Fingers (and toes) crossed for him.
