Here is one for the legal eagles:cool: who owns a dogs name??? I want to mention on my web site that one of my own bred pups, now belonging to someone else, has won a couple of res CC's.......but can i do this without their permission......any ideas on the legal aspect of this?

Well the information is in the public domain, it ahs been published by the catalogue people in their resutls whixh you can find online so I can't see how putting the fact on your website can be a prolem, but the legailites I don't know.

As you bred and named the dog for which you payed a fee and pay for the affix fee I think you would have every right.

I don't see why not but maybe it would be nice to ask their permission?

As long as you make it clear that the dog's 'now owned and campaigned by Mr & Mrs Xxx' I can't see that there would be any problem. I've seen that a lot on websites, under a link called something like "Our own breeding, owned by others". :)

You can say what you like as long as it isn't defamatory or lies :-)
