My girl is due in season any time now, and for the past 3-4 days has been very quiet. Shes not really eating a great deal and stays on her bed most of the time. She seems fine in herself but seems to be keeping herself away from the family. Has anyone known this type of behaviour before? How long should I leave it before deciding its not down to being due in season?

Yep the moaning minnies I call it. I have had several that hardly ate when in season and they spen a lot of tiem looking sorry for themselves, sighing a lot.
My girls first season was a nightmare, she hardly ate for a week before hand until a week after season finished. She felt very sorry for herself, had an upset tummy, took to licking the cat, one of her boys and used to follow my youngest son around like a wet weekend, winning everytime he left a room. She has just had her second season and apart from a touch of diorea (sp) at the beginning and the end she has been very good. So sounds like begining of a season to me

I have found subsequent seasons a lot less noticeable re behaviour changes, though they do get randier the more mature they get.
Shes 2 and a half years old, I've only had her since September and shes had a season since being with us but I didnt notice behaviour changes in her but thats probably down to not knowing her very well at the time. She seems a bit better today, how long is it usually after the behaviour changes until she will start showing external signs of a season.
