I've just got a quote for extra cover and its only £7 a month more. This covers for £4000 per illness instead of £2500 and there's no time limit on claiming. I'm not sure what to do I'm so indecisive when it comes to matters like this. Have any of you upgraded to this?

Have you tried M&S? They are £7000 per year & cover for life with no excess. £4000 isn't a lot these days so can easily be reached.

yep they are good, but to ensure a Leonberger they wanted £450!!!!!

Thanks for your replies I looked at M&S and they are a couple of pounds cheaper and you're right the cover is better. The only thing is I have got a claim pending with Tesco so I can't do anything just yet. My renewal is up on 25 5 07, if I renew does that mean I have to pay for the whole 12 months? or can I just change insurers anytime?

if you pay bye d/d then cancell one month ahead.
if you take out another cover with m/s you are not insured for the first 14 day so i would run the old one on for a month so you are cover bye the over one bye lapping over by two weeks

If you have more than one dog with M&S they give you 5% discount per dog.  Our girl quoted £324.00 at 1 year old as a new dog, our boy was only £180.00 for this year..  We are looking to change from Direct Line as they were 8 weeks before they paid the vet.  Tried pet plan they were more expensive and only £4000 cover not enough for a Leo. 
We shall wait to see what Direct line give us a new quote for then decide to change or not.  M&S won't cover any of the old probs with her pano in the future so we have to be careful.  It is something she should grow out of .
