I know Terry wasn't well over Crufts, but does anyone know what with. And do we know if he is making a recovery?
I kept hearing snippets at Crufts and on TV coverage about how well Zena was coping whilst having to judge BIS but I've not seen anything in the dog papers.
I really hope he is doing alright as he seems to be such a nice genuine person.

The last information I've seen in the dog press was that he'd had an operation in a specialist lung hospital, had cancelled all his appointments in April but was hoping to be back judging at Birmingham National. Weather this has changed or not I haven't seen.

The last I heard was that he had had a lung removed & was doing OK on chemo.

He still has both lungs and has not started chemo yet. He was at Welks Friday for a short time.

It was Jill Peak who reported about his lung removal & chemo after she had been speeking to him. He is not judging at SKC as he's still not well enough.
I had heard that he was supposed to be judging at Birmingham next week, but read that sometime ago. If he's not well enough to be judging at SKC, he won't be judging nect week. He was watching at Welks.

He is scheduled to judge all the adult groups and BIS at National so I'm suprised there is no announcement as to a replacement

They can't announce a replacement until he has withdrawn, if he withdraws. Jill Peak mis-informed you Weima, unfortunately in cases like this so much gossip goes around that things get a bit confused and distorted.

I think the travelling to SKC and judging all day for 3 days must come into play. I actually hope he doesnt go to Scotland - and have suggested that to him.

I agree his well being should come first.

On Our Dogs and Dog World website, so will be in this weeks papers, Terry Thorn has cancelled ALL judging appointments up until the end of September, on medical advice. He is starting 18 weeks of chemo early June. He sends his apologies to all exhibitors/show societies.
His apologies are not needed, I really wish him all the very best of luck and strength in the fight he has ahead of him. He is such a lovely, gentle man. Take care

Wishing him the best of luck aswell. When we have spoken to him he has been so nice, although I've never experianced positive things with his judging of my dogs! Well you can't please everyone!!!!!!!!!!!

But his manner to the exhibitor and especially the dgos is exemplary and I love taking new pups under him and another couple of judges.

Just wanted to wish him all the best, he was marvelous with us when we did one of our first ever shows with him as judge, very much a gentleman.

Yep first champ show with my two year old first elkhound, very encouraging.
