Izzy has a bald patch on her back from when she had her op 8 weeks ago.................no sign of any coat growing back yet :(
Can I use the normal sun block for humans, or is there one made specifically for animal? & where can i get some if there is? & would it be better?
Thanks, :)
If you google "sun protection for dog" quite a lot comes up - including a link to a site that sells sun cream for pets. Don't know if it's just a gimmick, though - the American site just mentions putting on sunblock, or suggests putting on a T-shirt.

Most pet stores will sell something (PAH does if you have one near you and want it asap) or try the grooming companies.
Your other option might be to ask any crested people :) obviously they know how to look after bare skin on dogs, likewise the mexican hairless.

We used to use ordinary human sunblock on our cresteds. After a winter of wearing their coats they started off on factor 30 and as their skin got darker over the summer they went down to factor 15 :)
As a Crested owner i use any high factor sun block made for children, we vary the factor according to skin colour but if your dog has been shaved for an op the skin will never have had exposure to the sun so definately use the highest you can get. I tend to get mine from Avon when they have special offers on but i know people who have bought sun block from the pound shop. Chris
