Is there any guidelines from the KC or  this newly introduced animal welfare act which states the minimum age KC registered puppies can go to their new homes?

I can ony find this on the KC website but wondered if there was anything more official?

If you are contemplating breeding, there are certain questions that you will need to ask yourself before proceeding:

Have I the time to devote to a litter until the puppies are old enough to go to their new homes, which is usually around eight weeks?

I expect that it is rough guide as some breeds and individual pups are ready a few days earleir and soem need to stay with the Dam and breeder longer, some toy breeds generally don't go to new homes until 10 or 12 weeks.

I let my pups go at 7 1/2 to 8 weeks, usually the weekend before they are 8 weeks.

There is nothing in the KC General Code of Ethics but individual breed clubs may have it in theirs.  Mine states 8 weeks.
