I work on a wednesday morning and when i come home Ruby
has eaten all the mail
My dilemma is what to do. We have a modern PVC door that i do not think we
would be able to fix a box to. I was thinking about an outside
wrought iron one but I am a bit concerned. Although we live in a nice area
we are quite close to the road and a bit worried about the security of my letters.
Can you get a lockable wrought iron one? I have never had to worry
before so have never looked into it!
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I wouldn't mind if she only ate the brown ones :p

I have seen mail boxes which attach to the outside wall of a house. They are padlocked so only the owner can get at them.
Maybe larger Homebases or B&Q would do them?

I have an american mail box (the long ones on top of a post) I have never locked iy and have never had any problems. The only irritating thing is that the kids tend to put the flag up all the time!

You could always contain her away from the hall!

When you say Wrought Iron are you thinking of one like a gate, cos the letters would get wet in the rain unless you had a container inside.

I have got an old fire guard which i am going to try and section off the front door. She has the hall as her area when we are out as that is the only room not carpeted yet (still decorating) so i dont mind accidents :D

Ali, we don't have a letter box. We forgot to ask the joiner to put one in the door, and never got round to rectifying the situation. It does mean that Teelin the Terrible can't shred the post, but finding the letters can be fun. The regular postman knows that one door is never locked and chucks the post through it, but when he is on holiday we've found the mail in some wierd places :-).
