Hello all,

plea for help time.

I read a book years ago (And i mean YEARS!!!!) and i can't remember the name or the author. I'm having real problems trying to find a website that does a book search purely by story, or key elements of the story.

Can anyone help please?

The story was adventure/fantasy about a baby separated from her parents in the African bush (I think) and adopted by a Hyena Family - yes i know it sounds a bit odd, but in the end i think i remember they found out that the girl was the key to some great mystery or other surrounding a city buried in the sand.

Ideas greatly appreciated.

I read this about 15+ years ago, i think, and it was in the general fiction bit in my library - the system has now been updated and they don't have records of my past borrowed items that are older than 5 years.

I remember that book! Just! Off to the library to see if they have it, or maybe a look on ebay might find it....???
