Hi  I had to take same to the vet to have a lump removed from his back which I'm quite worried about. While he was having the operation the vet castrated him and did a scrotal ablation.     Some of you might remember that I've posted on here before about Sams scrotal eczema, in the end we just didn't think it fair on him to keep having to wear his buster collar when he had an attack and as he had to have an op anyway it just seemed the right time to get it done. I haven't actually looked at the stitches yet but hopefully he will be fine. He's fast asleep at the moment.

Fingers crossed he will be fine now. :) I hope the lump will turn out to be harmless.

Thanks Goldmali, Sam had quite a good night he's still a bit dopey and so am I as I slept on the floor with him. He hasn't had a wee since last night so I'll be happy when I know everythings working well.

He seems to be a bit brighter thanks, he finally did a wee at 11.30 this morning so I'm really pleased that everything is ok in that department. I'm feeling incredibly quilty now about putting him through this as I've just looked at his stitches. My daughter thinks he's going to be a changed dog and my son thinks me awful as he thinks his tackle makes him who he is.Too late now! If it wasn't for the fact that he kept getting this scrotal eczema I wouldn't have had him done.   We should get the results from the lump early next week.

I think you made the best decision for him - it must have been really uncomfortable to have eczema in that area :(  anything that will make him more comfy can't be bad!   I think it's a man thing the way your son is thinking - makes them all wince a bit whenever it's mentioned

Good luck for the results too and please let us know how he gets on :)

Ah thank goodness for a wee eh ;-) I'm sure he'll be fine and remain the dog you love. I'd rather have no bits than itchy ones! I hope he's feeling better soon.

Hi thanks for the replies. Sam is doing really well he will have the stitches out the tuesday after easter. Good news, the lump was a benign basal tumour so I'm so relieved about that.
