After reading about Lucy and Lea hurting their fingers, I have just spent two hours yesterday an a&e with my older boy who has broken his finger (would have just strapped it up but it was at a bit of a funny angle ) the another 2 hours there today with OHs son who has ruptured the tendon in his finger :eek::rolleyes: - again was at a bit of a funny angle to be left .

Both got their injuries playing basketball.

Now I've just caught my finger in one of the dog crates while I was folding it up!!! Ouch!!!
I don't think its anything serious, but it does flippin hurt

I didn't think sore fingers were contagious  , now I'm beginning to wonder, lol

Hope all your family fingers recover quickly :D :D :D

Thanks Lea :). we're off to the fracture clinic with Ben, my son tomorrow.  They'll probably just replace the strapping (filthy already ) and tell him to be careful.  Honestly, he really is a trainee man, (he's 13) .....moan moan moan  :D :D

Paula

PS  I think I need to think up one of those clever signatures that I can never understand :D

I think it's only catching if you don't use protection! :D ;)

Thought I had better not open a new thread.
I have had enough of my finger being strapped up!!!!
Every time it gets wet it comes off!!!! I cant clean properly, cant work properly :( :(
I have just had enough and taken strapping off!!!! and it doesnt feel to bad.
Going to consultant on thursday, but will there be any detrimetal effect to keeping strapping off in the evenings as long as I dnt use it too much???
It was a stable break. I would put it back on during the day when doping things!!!!!

Hi Lea

We went to the fracture clinic today with Ben - they said no games, sport, etc for at least 3 weeks .  Gave me more stuff to strap it up with until next week when we have to go back for more x-rays to make sure it's healing OK. Consultant said it wont be fully healed for 6 weeks!!!

Have had to put up with more moaning 'cos he wanted to go and play basketball/football/ride on bikes at 300 mph this afternoon as it was such nice weather.  Why do they think the answer to 'Why can't I go and play basketball?' will change after asking 40 times??

It's surprising how much you use ALL your fingers, even if you think you don't  :D

Hope your finger is less painful :)

Oh well Paula, the consultant will have a fit at me, as I have been doing everything except lifting with it!!!!
Its 3 weeks tomorrow since it happened.
Although I suppose the difference is with an adult, you tend to be able to know your own body, where as a child doesnt!!!!
It actually feels alot better this morning after not having strapping on it :)
