I am organising my daughters wedding - now only 7 weeks to go - getting very nervous - especially as I haven't got my outfit yet!!  Very stressful time - especially when grooms parents are staying well in the background!  The last few weeks seem to be rushing by - so get organised now!

Oooo..congratulations. :-) My stress is all over. ;-) I got married last month. :D After being engaged for 5 years, we finally decided to set the date....all done and dusted within 3 months!

I'm getting married on the 26th May and all of a sudden it is getting very close very fast......Just been to see the seamstress and she has cut out all the dresses and the men's waistcoats now so things are moving. Cake ordered and decoration for the top decided on, wedding favours done, reception booked, cars, flowers invites etc.. but now MR B****Y Mugabi is queering the pitch for Sister and Brother in law being able to leave their farm in Zim to attend...they are hanging on by the skin of tier teeth as it is. Something always puts a spanner in the works just when you think it's all going swimmingly!!!

Don't have to organise the next one (in October, on Isle of Man )  .....just turn up & smile (I'll be mother of the groom  & granny to the bridesmaids :) )

Ditto moi - son having just got engaged. No wedding until Summer 2009 and then we will just turn up and look sumptious (in your dreams, Daisy :D :D ). Future daughter-in-law lives with us so I will get blow by blow account :) Her first mammoth task is to persuade her father that he does want to wear morning dress :D :D

Daisy - tell her to tell him that its far cheaper to hire (and it will fit beautifully) than to buy a new suit!!   And there is a discount for bulk-hire - ie its like the supermarket's BOGOF - hire 4 & the groom gets his free!

(Now that will appeal to the father of the bride who will be doing most of the "coughing up! :D :D )

It's not the cost - it's just that he refuses to dress up for anything :D :D :D Hopefully he will give in - it's her big day and she is his only daughter :) :)

I was told on the Saturday night of Crufts weekend that daugther and boyfriend were getting married in August!  Still in a bit of shock and have to keep thinking if it's real.  Things are getting organised slowly although I do realise we don't have long.  Purchased the dress last Saturday and to be fair fits like a glove and she will look stunning.  She is having a tiara not a veil and the flowers are arranged.  Hall and caterers in place. Invites out etc., Bridesmaids dresses next!  It's all go isn't it?  Mother of the bride outfit for me is yet to be arranged and although I have a few ideas not sure what I'll settle on.  good luck with yours. x

congrats to you..
not getting married but  gets the stress of  8 to 12 weddings every week. own a men's wedding and formal hire shop. (thankfully its only men's) its stressful enough for me.. and seeing some of the brides that come in a few days before there wedding totally stressed out with all those final checks...one week in august last year we had a 20 wedding week..:eek::eek: i needed it holiday after that.
so my advise to u would be get as much help in the last week with all the little jobs that needing done , don't want to be exhausted and worn out when you will want to be feeling and looking your very best for your most important special day..

good luck :):)

Wow...lots of weddings!!! Me and OH got together 12 years ago when we were 19 (met on first day at Uni...ahhh!) and after being engaged the last 3 years decided it may be time to get married!!! You don't want to rush these things!! I'm a bit traditional and don't want to have children out of wedlock and at 32 the clocks ticking, plus I have a history of endometriosis:mad:. My OH's younger brother is getting married in May next year, he is OH's best man and his future wife is my bridesmaid - so theres lots of excitement in the family. Got the big things sorted like venue, catering, photographers, music, and I ordered my dress last week, so now its all the little things...of which there seem quite alot! I had a massage and facial yesterday for the first time ever - think that could be a regular thing now in the run up!
