ive just been watching Frank, my snake, looning it round his vivarium.  All of a sudden he took a sharp turn round a rock and met his tail, which was of course moving - he obviously thought it would be good to eat, so he bit it

Im not sure what a shocked snake looks like but im sure the look of shock came accross his face when he realised it was his own tail - lucky he doesnt really have any proper teeth :D

Ha Ha, what a loony snake wheres a camera when you need one!!
My sister is into reptiles and snakes she has several Bearded dragans, crabs, turtles and lizards.  She is planning on buying a snake soon, not sure if I will visit her though!!!  It takes me loads of courage to go round there with all those reptiles she has at present!!

I must admit I would never buy another, I dont think its fair to keep "wild" animals in captivity like that.  I have had Frank for about 6 years, I got him when he was 10 weeks old because I felt sorry for him shoved in a box smaller than a lunch box in a pet shop (I know, im just the sort of person who keeps these shops going  ).  It cant be a great life for him in his vivarium although its quite big and I do try to make it "homely" for him he does come out but not as much as he used to because the cats think he would make an excellent snack so I have to make sure they are well out of the way.

Ooer!  I wonder if he was a poisonous snake would that be a problem if he bit himself??

I suppose he would poison himself, I dont think posionous snakes are immune to their own poison
