what should i do when he has just had a seizure he is very quite, and just lying there should i sit with him or just leave him alone his mouth is clamped shut tight and he is looking at me when i am talking to him with his eyes, but he is not moving, i am by myself and really frightened things are just getting worse with him,
how long do they normally take to come out of a seziure

Contact your vet immediately.

Firstly have you seen your vet for an examination ? If not please do so ASAP

You might want to visit the Phyllis Croft Foundation site

You should stay with your dog whilst he is seizing & talk quietly to him

Easy to say but try not to get stressed out I'm sure your boy will be fine. Don't leave him alone if he is seizing & keep talking to him Cyber {{{{{{{{{{Hugs}}}}}}}}}} to you & your furbaby

I don't know any of the background information of your dog, but if it does happen again before you go to see the vet, stay calm and talk quietly to him as the others have said.  Try to keep anything he could injure himself on out of the way.  When he's coming round, he'll be confused, so turn off the TV/radio etc, just let him hear your voice.
I know it's easier said than done - I've never seen a dog fitting, but had a cat with epilepsy, and it's horrible to see.
I hope everything works out for you and your dog.
Take care

thanks everyone just took him to the vets, and they are not hopefull, they said that because this seizure was large that he may not pull through and if he does he could have brain damage, so i am just sitting waiting now, i have to phone the vets at 10 am and see how my little man is doing going to be  a long night
