Yep, i agree, a bit too american, but has anyone got any recipies for a dog friendly b-day cake??

Well I have to admit my dogs DO get birthday cakes. :D But I do it plain and simple. Some nice canned food, a tray of Cesar is perfect because you can tip it upside down on a plate. Cover it with chocolate drops and stick chews in as candles. :D

In the past though I have also used pie shells that you can fill yourself, and filled it with some nice meat, again covered with choc drops and added candles. That kind of cake can be cut and shared between dogs.

I assumed that Blue Peter would have something (I'm sure they used to bake cakes for the dogs - mind you last time I watched it regularly was when they still had John Noakes and Shep).  Looking on the website all I could find was this:

My husband once made a butchers tripe cake, covered it in sliced tongue icing and garnished it with gravy bones. I think he has too much time on his hands.
