my dog food, chest freezer in my shed has decided to pack up  luckily there isnt  much food in there and ive managed to ram it all into my freezer in the kitchen.  The thing is ive only had it a couple of years and I bought it brand new. There are two lights on at the moment, the green one which means its working and then a red one which has a triangle above it  I cant find any of the info on it though and thought I might be able to find something online but I cant, was just wondering if anyone has any ideas? its a whirlpool freezer and I think the model is AFG5332-C.

I don't have that make of freezer, but as far as I know the red light just means that it's too warm.

Hi Claire
Is it a bit iced up?  If it is, it is probably worth defrosting it then turning it back on again.  This worked for my old freezer.

Freezers kept in unheated sheds or garages often won't work if they get too cold. It sounds daft but, as a rough explanation, they work by exchanging warm air for cold so are prone to failure if the outside temperature gets too cold. Most manufacturers won't warranty them if they are kept in a shed unless they are a model which is produced for those conditions.

Could you bring it indoors where it is a bit warmer at the moment - probably not or you would have done so in the beginning - but may be possible :)

hmm, it isnt really iced up, I have switched it off for the time being so will see how it goes.  There is no way I can bring it indoors, the shed is a brick one so it isnt too cold and its survived the real cold snap we had

I will have to see what happens
