Please can anybody tell me if pigs ears are bad for some dogs, as I have a labrador who loves them with no effects  what so ever and I also have a westie who loves them  but she gets a 50p size red raised rash after eating  one near the base of her tail and it last for about a week
Now I know its not fleas or anything else  like change of diet it only appears after the pig ears so was wondering maybe could it be too much salt in the ears or something like it and has anybody else found this with  pigs  ears lol I know I sound really daft but I cant give one without the other and Fizz the westie always wants what cleo has:rolleyes:    Thanks anyway

alot of dogs are allergic to pork, you could buy her a cows ear instead :)

Its the opposite with my lot - just a sniff of anything beef or 'cow' related and they get terrible skin trouble - know as 'hot spots'

I give mine raw chicken wings instead now  :)

thank you just googled "hot-spots" and thats it,  a spot where she is constantly nibbling if she is  left too! I keep shaving the area to relieve the itchy spot it goes after a week so but does come back as soon as pigs ears are introduced so will have to find some thing else to munch on thank you very much for your replies

Pork is one of the hardest meats for a dog to digest. If she likes the dried chewies you could try dried tripe sticks, paddywack or bulls pizzle.
