Hello,
I am wondering if any one can help me. I am trying to help someone
that has bought a pup under the u.k.pedigree dog registration
club. Is this dog considered a pedigree dog? Also can it be shown
under the kennel club rule? Also can it be bred with and pups
to be considered pedigree?
I think I know the answers but would like your opionons on the
subject.

Sorry no, it may well be a pedigree dog but if it is not registered with the KC it might as well be a 57 varities. No matter he is still worth loving. Jackie H

Don't think its worth the paper its written on to be honest Nutkin. Its still a pedigree dog but if its not registered with the KC it cannot be shown at KC events, such as the Open and champ shows. I think it could still be shown at exemtion shows but thats about all. with regards to breeding, they wouldn't be able to register the pups with the KC because one of the parents was not a KC reg dog, therefore stringing out and extending the problems to the pups.

HI, there is no guarantee that it is a pedigree dog, though he may well be. I'm fairly sure he could be shown at Exemption shows though, which are fun. Details of these can often be found at training/ringcraft classes locally, not all are advertised. In most areas there is an Exemption show most weekends during the summer, though he will have to be 6 months old to compete. If the parents are registered it is possible if the breeder is approached and the money for KC registration offered, that the breeder may register the puppy, but its not very likely. The body he has been registered with is not worth the paper its written on.
