Hello I don't really know much about this topic, but have been looking up about injections which can be given to male dogs to reduce their sexual urges. I'm considering having my dog nuetered but would like to try a less drastic option as he isn't to bad, no agression he just likes humping visitors.We also have a baby who is starting to crawl & I'm worried he's going to take a intrest in him!

Personally I don't think the injection will make any difference to his humping. I've known neutered dogs to do this too. Is he just young? Sometimes they grow out of it :) I've tried the injection with one of my dogs who is aggressive towards over dogs - he had the jag 3 times and it never made any difference. I went ahead and had him neutered adn it took about 6 months to see any improvement, relaxation in him.

He's 17 months so yes he is still young. Thanks for your advice. Dani 

I also tried it with one of mine, years ago, and it made no difference whatsoever. I finally got him castrated, when he went in for an op. for something else (one dose of anaesthetics), and have to say that made no difference to his behaviour either.

One of mine had the injection many years ago for the same reason - excessive humping :rolleyes:
Unfortunately it had no effect whatsoever.  He's 10 now and still humping away quite merrily.........:rolleyes:
