Given the amount of sadness and loss on the board at the moment, I was reminded of this poem/verse I hope you understand the reason behind my posting it now....
AUTHOR: Leigh Mitchell Hodges
Closed eyes can't see the white roses,
Cold hands can't hold them, you know,
Breath that is stilled cannot gather
The odors that sweet from them blow,
Death, with a peace beyond dreaming,
Its children of earth doth endow;
Life is the time we can help them,
So give them the flowers now!
Here are the struggles and striving,
Here are the cares and the tears;
Now is the time to be smoothing
The frowns and the furrows and fears.
What to closed eyes are kind sayings?
What to hushed heart is deep vow?
Naught can avail after parting,
So give them the flowers now!
Just a kind word or a greeting;
Just a warm grasp or a smile--
These are the flowers that will lighten
The burdens for many a mile.
After the journey is over
What is the use of them; how
Can they carry them who must be carried?
Oh, give them the flowers now!
Blooms from the happy heart's garden
Plucked in the spirit of love;
Blooms that are earthly reflections
Of flowers that blossom above.
Words cannot tell what a measure
Of blessings such gifts will allow
To dwell in the lives of many,
So give them the flowers now!
And may I also say to you all Take care of yourselves - please and may I offer each and every one of you a flower of your choice from me.

This has reminded me LIFE is not a rehersal.

Good job or I would have been taken off first act :rolleyes:
And remember
Off line, is not Out of mind.
Karen

You are a very special flower yourself.
That is a lovely sentiment and just right for how we are all feeling this week.

That is beautiful :)
i don't post very often - mainly because I think there are many people on this board with much more sensible advice than I can offer :D
but I have been a member for a long time and I read your posts every day, so i feel that I know some of you very well :)
So I too would like to offer each and every one of you a flower and my respect and thanks, and also very special flowers to Jazzywoo and Liberty, may you both rest in peace

Like Paula I don't post all that often,but I come on here every day for a look and have learnt so much from you all. Although I have never met any of you I feel I know you, and it's nice to feel part of a 'community' that is so friendly and supportive of each other. If ever anyone is facing problems or is just feeling down everyone rallies round to help and support that person, and these are people we've never met in person.
Flowers to you all for being so special :-)
Rachael
That is a lovely poem Karen, and thank you for the flower :)
I hope you have some yourself.
I have my virtual vase ready :)
