my sisters cat had kittens 2 weeks ago and they are covered in fleas.
she cant afford to take them to vets(

) so wanted to no if there was any product she could buy that what do the job.
also i have told her about cats protection and speying for free and wanted to no how long would she have to wait till she could get the mother cat speyed.
Hi Bek
Couldn't she just phone her vet and ask them for a product that would be suitable for such young kittens? If she's already registered, I wouldn't have thought that she would have to have a consultation for that.

she isnt registured at any vets. i have rung on her behalf and because the cats are not registured they want to see them.
i am really worried as they are aparantly riddled with fleas.
thankfuly she is getting in contact with cats protection to get her other 2 cats speyed

Frontline spray is the ONLY product I know of that is safe for such young kittens.
It HAS to be done ASAP as the kittens will otherwise most likely die from the blood loss!

thankyou for that will tell her to get it a.s.a.p
When we got a kitten last year, it was very young, too young to have been taken from his mother really, but he was covered in fleas - as said, Frontline spray is the only thing - I sprayed him, then put him on a light coloured blanket, and I spent all evening picking off the fleas as they crawled onto his head or to the ends of his fur - got about 30 off, horrible. Fleas can cause anaemia in kittens, which could kill them, so they need to be sorted, and also, fleas can pass on worms, so them and their mother should be wormed as well.
frontline spray applied by nurses/vet, have to be careful to not put too much on and get in eyes/mouth.
make sure they dont lick it off too much xx

I had a moggie kitten once, too young to leave mum (about 4/5 weeks) and riddled with fleas :( I put her on a warm blanket with a warm hot water bottle underneath (kept her calm and quiet ;) ) and used a human louse comb to comb the fleas out. It took a while so I kept her in a cat traveller and worked on her little and often, after a few hours she was clear ;) A cup of boiling water on a table beside me soon finished the little horrors ;)
