Bernard my hubby had radical surgery on Wenesday afternoon. He had a colonoscopy in the morning (his 3rd amongst other scans etc in 6days) & surgeon decided to operate that day. He had 2 tumours that had to be removed. We we`re offered to have treatment in UK but made the desicion to stay here amongst family & friends & have treatment here.
They`ve managed to take them away & are confident the cancer hasn`t spread. He`s making a really good recovery & they`re extemely pleased with the way the op went & how he`s recovering. I`m coping well as everything happened quick so not had time to worry! He`s in critical care unit with his own nurse & will be for next few days so thoughts, prayers or whatever anyone has please put him in them cos we`re not out of the woods yet :)
Christine
Best wishes to you and your hubby, Christine. So much sadness on on CD lately.

Christine my thoughts are with you and Bernard. Being in the same position as you with regards to OH being treated for cancer I know you made the right decision to remain out there for the op. I think the presence of friends and family plays a huge part in getting back on your feet and for your sake it is vital to have people around who can support you in whatever way they can.
One of the huge helps we have had is having a friend who can let our dog out and sometimes walk him on the times when we are at the hospital which takes one of the pressures and worries off. Sending masses of positive thoughts and wishes winging across the sea. :)

You're both in my thoughts Christine, keeping everything crossed for Bernard to be well.
Best Wishes from me too. Take Care of yourself Christine, Bernard will need you when he gets home!

Wishing Bernard a good recovery, Christine.

Please give him all our very best wishes, Christine - sounds as if he's well on track, so stay positive!!

I`m overwhelmed! had to close the page down for a while to recover, thank you very much everyone for all the kind wishes, prayers & thoughts :)
You`ll all be pleased to know at my luch time call they said he`d had a cuppa & was going to be allowed some clear soup later in the afternoon. So you all know what I said, & yes you`re all correct for once ;) :p :D I`ll make that myself & bring it in!!!! :D And so the lovely smell of the old stand by of chicken broth was wafting thru the house..... yet again :D
He managed a half cup & had some more later :) It`s been 11 days since ha`s had any nourishment & there was concern about it before & also after his op but at least now I can do something to get him on his feet!
Thanks again everyone, will go back to bed with a smile now :)

take care both of you.
terri
Good thoughts to both of you, keep strong!
