Hi guys,

My pup has cherry eye in his left eye, i know i have to have an operation to get this removed, but i need to know what age would be best to have this done, also i am really worried as i have taken some photos of my dog and have noticed that his left eye is showing up as red eye on the photo (his right eye is fine on the photos). (Also it is not the flash or a trick of the light, i have took photos in every room and his right eye is always fine). Its as though something is showing up that is invisable to the naked eye. Im sure i watched something on tv when a child had major prblems with her eye, and the only reason her mother thought there was something wrong was because whne sye took a photo of her child one eye was showing the same signs as what is happening with my pup.

Physicaly my pup seems fine, eating, playfull and the eye does not look red or irratated at all.

Please someone tell me i am paraniod:-))

Many thanks
Jade

Hi Jade,

Are you a new mum by any chance :-D

I watched the programme too...it was GMTV and the kid's (bad) eye was black instead of red on photos.  I must admit I went a bit paranoid about my dog's eye after that but I'm just a born worrier where he is concerned and I always get carried away with things

Try not to let your imagnation run away with you from what you say, the left eye is red on pics so I assume its probably cos of the cherry eye??  I'm sorry I can't offer any medical explanation but try not to worry.  If the pup is happy, playful and eating then that should tell you something x
