Topic Dog Boards / Feeding / Food advice please

I started off feeding JWB but changed to burns due to change of ownership.

They were looking to lean on burns but they were not so hyper?

I read somewhere that too much protein can make dogs hyper - it was nice having all 3 dogs in the front room at once

Now they are back on JWB which I am not too happy with esp as they are manic again:confused: but they look better

Did they stop being manic because they were half starved? or was it the less protein in the food?

Any tips on a food with a protein level somewhere inbetween, prefer one not owned by masterfoods or simular - sorry

That would be my opinion.... Food and  protein provides energy, too little of it and you will see lethargic dogs.I'm not saying this is the case with your dogs, but lack of exercise makes for hyper dogs, not high protein ;) The protein level in the food i feed is 36%,plus i supplement with meat and bones.

Take a look at Timberwolforganics

Thanx for the reply - I know dogs can be hyper when not walked (I can be naughty & not walk mine in bad weather as the ground gets too boggy (dartmoor) & the dogs dont like it that much)

I will look at that site - thankyou
