Hi there all.
I have 2 Dalmatians one 9months and one 16months old.Have read that eggs are good for them so tried them with some plain eggs scrambled and they loved it. Charlie the youngest has a very sensitive tummy and we struggle to put weight on him, is it true that egg will help him put some weight on. He hasnt had an upset tummy from the eggs and i wondered how often can i give them, is a couple of eggs twice a week enough or could i give them an egg every day.
Many thanks in advance

I feed eggs abot twice a week, but I dont scramble them I give them raw shell an all, dont know if eggswould put weight on your dogs though sorry,If mine need to gain a little weight I add green tripe to the food
i have tried tripe and he had terrible diahorreah from it, to find something other than his food that doesnt upset him is a godsend, i suppose that anything extra to his diet more than his food that doesnt cause diahorreah will help him to gain weight as he is gaining more nutrients from it.
Thanks
Chrissy
Well, my girl has scrambled eggs and a slice of ham 4 times a week for breakfast and when I have pups they have it every single morning without fail, they all love it, really please that your dalmation's tum is not upset by it, the eggs will do him good. Shame he can't take tripe. What about fresh chicken wings or chicken and rice how is he with those?
Note: I always make my scrambled egg with goats milk, much kinder on the tum for animals.
Thanks thats great, i have just been making it with eggs and nothing else added as i had heard milk may upset their tummies, i will try a little goats milk now though. I have tried them with chicken and rice but as the youngest was only fed that for a while he isnt at all interested in it now. May try chicken wings just worried about them choking, but im sure they would love them.
Thanks
Chrissy
just worried about them choking
Even my 8 week pups eat chicken wings, remember the bones are very plyable (until cooked) they don't splinter.
As with all foods always feed with supervision, I still watch the adult dogs with them, not that I see them for long. :-D
When you first give a chicken wing dogs generally don't know what to do with it, they might play with it for a little while and then leave it and go back to it, within 2 hours they should then eat it, and then there is no turning back.
They love them!

Have you given him something like a veined cheese or prebiotic drink to help with his gut flora, when I first put Trav onto raw he had the squirts for a few days but by giving him the prebiotic drinks he was fine
Charlie has a tablet with each meal, something called Canikur which is for digestive balance, did try him on pro kaolin for a while but it didnt make any difference, we have however managed to find a food that suits him which is a complete dry food with salmon and potato.
Thanks

I have had tummy problems e.g colitis, with one of my bitches. I have now got her on Vitalin Salmon & Potato, and touch wood have had no problems for quite a while now. In fact I have had good results with their lamb & rice too. What comes out tother end is almost like they are being fed a natural diet. All I can say is I'am well impressed with both varieties.
Also have you tried Naturediet --- Brilliant !!
Sorry, but would not use Burns, been there, tried it, had problems, never again !!
We have charlie on wafcol salmon and potato and he has been brilliant on that for 4 months now and like i said we have even started to introduce other things slowly to his diet as well will so far no ill effects. we tried him on nature diet and it was immediate diahorreah, unfortunately.
Thanks
Chrissy
