Does any one know if you can cancel mobile phone contracts and what is the penilty if you do? Think we've got 12 mths left on an 18mth one??

I made an enquiry recently about mine. It runs out in February. You can cancel your contract if you are prepared to pay the difference due :( You might be able to go onto a reduced payment scheme (it's what I've done :) ) but you would need to phone the company and ask them. It depends on which company and which contract, I think ;)

I know that 3 let you have 3 price plan reductions during your contract period. But with any company you would have to pay all the line rental vat etc up until your contract is finished, so in reality you may aswell  stay with them and ride it out (unless you can afford to pay all that up front)

Thats what i thought, thanks. Its such a mess we all swapped phones around. Boyfriend dropped his down the toilet, so he got daughters and she got my upgrade, with the understanding that when hers was up for renewal, i would get that phone and she could have a new one. Hers is up now, but she got hers stolen last weekend, so she will get upgrade and i am stuck for another 12 mths.

If you still have your sim card by a cheap one off ebay one which will work with your network - problem solved. hth
